Prepare to be submerged in a heart-stopping tale of suspense, where the fate of nations hangs in the balance.Interview with the AuthorQ - So, what makes the Ryan Weller Thriller Series special?A – When I pick up a book, I like to read fast-paced action and adventure or a great thriller. So, I wanted my series to reflect some of my author heroes such as Brad Thor, Mark Greaney, and Clive Cussler. Books featuring a kick butt protagonist who also deals with normal things in his life are the ones I resonate with the most, and how I try to write my characters. My books reflect things I like to do – scuba diving, sailing, shooting guns, traveling, and anything else I might be interested in at the moment I’m writing a book, which to me, keeps them interesting and relevant and often show up in my writing.Q – How did you get started writing?A – I’d read a bunch of stuff from self-published authors and thought, I can do that. I’d always wanted to write a book and at the time, I was checking things off a bucket list after being paralyzed from the waist down following a motorcycle accident. Dark Water came together out of a series of short stories I’d written over the years combined with looking at political tensions around the world. Since I released Dark Water in 2017, I’ve revised the book several times to make it a better. Forgive me if it’s not perfect as I was just starting out, but my writing has improved drastically over the course of the series thanks to guys like my editor Pete at Novel Approach Manuscript, and advice from Ryan Steck, author of Fields of Fire, and curator at The Real Book Spy. less
