I'm instantly judged at first sight because of my size. Women back away in fear, which isn't a good thing when my job is to protect them. And men tread water carefully for fear of a broken face. Which works in my favor. I'd rather not break their faces unless I deem it necessary. Then I meet Callie. Wonderful, beautiful, curvy, Callie, and I know that my life has just shifted. She doesn't back away. She doesn't show fear. However, she does need time to fully grasp her feelings toward me. Against my better judgment, I give it to her. Sort of. It was a mistake. Now, both her and her son have vanished and I'll stop at nothing to find my family.
Almost two years after divorcing my abusive ex-husband, I've finally made a life for me and my son. It wasn't easy getting here, but we made it. Now, something feels off. Weird things keep happening. Either I'm losing my mind or someone is playing games with me. I don't mention it to Beast. I can't wrap my mind around why he's even interested in a fat girl like me to begin with. If I tell him that I think there's something going on inside of my head, he might walk away. And that's not something my heart can deal with. I've already asked him for time so that I can wrap my mind around everything, but now there's a chance that I'll never get to see him again. I think I made a terrible mistake and it might cost the lives of both me and my son.
