The epic battle for AI supremacy in the universe between the Geo-Mind and Gia continues. Beneath the isolation zone, 300 alien troops have been dispatched, and if that’s not discouraging enough, the 23rd Silarian Fleet has initiated terra displacement operations outside the energy dome. It’s looking more and more desperate in the small town of Castle Rock. So, the question arises . . . just how much of a difference can Sam, an ex-Green Beret with trigger issues; Cypress, an AI-possessed golden retriever; and Harper, a pretty part-time nurse, have when it comes to saving planet Earth? It’s time to find out—sit back and buckle up, because this action-packed, adrenaline-pumping sequel to book one of the Fallen Ship series is finally here.
The Fallen Ship 2.
Never picked up a McGinnis book I didn't like. This one was a bit on the softer side with the lovable golden retriever. Don't want to spoil a good story. Anyway, I enjoyed the gripping military science fiction story with relatable characters throughout. Good and rather nastier ones too I would say. Both are needed in order to meet the need for victory. That is what makes for great dialogue and good action in this book. Kindle Customer (KC)
Adventure Military SciFi Story.
Last night, after several dumped books, I started The Fallen Ship with very low expectations. I thought I would drop it after the first 30 pages. As the sun lighten my room and the dogs and cats started loudly complaining they were starving I had to put the book down and get to work. Tonight, after finishing the dishes, I grabbed the book and finished the last 60-some-odd pages. It is a fun, well-edited book with a solid plot and interesting characters.
Delightful to read without story-stopping typos or confusing grammar.
A good ol’ fashioned fun scifi adventure story. KC
Love the Golden Retriever.
Got this a recommendation and though it’s not my usual read. I’m so glad I gave it a chance. Thanks! I will give one bit of information about this storyline, the dog lives :) KC
Great Military Science Fiction, Humor, and a Dog.
Here is a retired soldier named Sam who served in the green beret with honor and tried to cope with starting over in Castle Rock when an alien and his ship crashes near the town. I enjoyed getting to meet Harper, Julian, and the others that will help save the town and perhaps the world from an invasion. Great scif from MWM, as usual. I also highly recommend Junket - Untamed Alien Worlds, simply fantastic! - Larry
Fun and Adventure in a Military Sci-fi Novel.
Sam, a former Green Beret, and his all walks-of-life resistance fighters are repelling the alien invasion with the help of an AI named Gia. Cypress, an alien whose consciousness is inhabiting a golden retriever, has partnered up with the humans to save Earth. The edge-of-your-seat anticipation of what will happen next keeps you reading.
Better than BV Larson and Craig Alanson.
I read a lot, and Mark Wayne McGinnis has become my favorite author since Scrapyard Ship. I also love the USS Hamilton series. There are many scifi authors out there... BV Larson, Craig Alanson, Jamie MacFarlane, MR Forbes, and Rick Partlow. None match the humor, wit, and intelligence of MWM. KC
Keep 'em coming.
The Fallen Ship, Rise of the Gia Rebellion, and The Fallen Ship II are a rare treat. The military scifi adventure books I read... many of them... are rote—from a formula.
