Mina has always known her place in the dragon hierarchy of Grove—at the bottom. Her king’s court is so far out of her league that she feels like she’s intruding even when she comes to work as a maid at Ryker Drake’s house. The attraction she feels for the rock-blasting, nipple-pierced sweetheart she works for is inappropriate on so many levels. But Mina can’t help herself.

Maybe Ryker is just amusing herself with her, like her uncle and his cronies say he must be. Maybe he’ll dump her and forget her the minute he finds a proper mate. Maybe the interest he seems to have in her will disappear like morning mist in the mountains.

Even if all that is true, Mina can’t help loving the man. Around him, she feels joy, comfort and security for the first time in…well…forever. Part of her wants to keep away from Ryker to protect herself from the inevitable heartbreak when he breaks up with her. The rest of her wants to grab onto the happiness of being with him.
