River was born to a group of shifters that call themselves Redemption Pack. They believe that being a shifter is a curse from God, which only strict adherence to Gods word can bring them to redemption so that the curse may be lifted. They hate being shifters, but they especially hate omegas who they believe are demons. River's parents knew he was an omega, but they kept his omega nature a secret. Fearing what would happen to him when the others in Redemption pack discovered his secret, River fled and started a new life hidden among humans. He feared that all shifters were a threat to his safety.
Ryker, one of Pops crew, had a tough time dealing with the stress and trauma that he had suffered in his early life, but also in the shooting at Pops shop. He and a few others had left for an extended ride rather than stay at Dry Lake Pack. Ryker's need to be punished to alleviate his feelings of guilt for all of the bad things that happen around him, caused him to seek out fights. He knew he needed help. He also knew he needed to get his friends back to the crew. What he never expected was to come across an omega in a state park trying to deal with his heat alone.
When Redemption Pack endangers the lives of all shifters, River must face the consequences of their actions. Will Ryker be able to protect his mate? What will this mean for the Crew and Dry Lake Pack?
