After ending her engagement to a vampire hunter, Claire meets the attractive and mysterious vampire Matthew in a club. She observes him from afar for a few nights. When he finally comes to talk to her, it is to scare her and ensure that she will not return to a place he considers dangerous for her. Claire does return, however, and discovers more about Matthew’s past than he wanted her to know.
