Except, they don't die, they get rescued by an angry and slightly psychotic cyborg called Baz, and Ember has to scramble to resume being a good and proper employee.
Her termination papers would not read well:
Failed to comply with company moral standards, did it with an orc, a lot ... while screaming and writhing.
When the latest planet under her feet begins to suffer its own minor Armageddon, Ember sees the advantage in having two hulking warlike males by her side.
Correction - make that two hot males who want in her pants, her bed, and maybe her heart.
Like PREY, this book is not gritty uber-dark such as Cari Silverwood often writes. It is the pansy dark you reach for when you're all darked out and one step from seeing a therapist.
It's carnal, naughty, and very twisted, and not what your mother ever wanted you to read. Also, there may be some robots that go PEW PEW.
Steel is a standalone read.
