Although, this time the genie’s master is not a major, or an astronaut... he’s more of a numbers guy, who has always secretly dreamed of becoming a P.I. On the morning of his wedding, he finds himself at the beach wanting to end it all, rather than go through with his marriage to his overbearing fiancée—when he’s hit over the head with a falling object. (Which he later credits for saving his life.) Stumbling back to shore, he inadvertently kicks a bottle out of the surf, dislodging its cork and releasing a genie. Turns out, it was her bottle that hit him in the head and knocked the sense back into him. He’ll have to thank her for that later.Now he has two women in his life, he’s not sure he wants. This day is going swimmingly.As for the genie, she instantly proclaims him to be her new master—having lost the old one to a skydiving jump gone terribly wrong, that plunked her bottle into the ocean and him onto the beach, face down in the sand, presumed dead.But is he? It’s against genie law to procure more than one master at a time, but she doesn’t have time to think about that, as new master has ditched his bride at the altar and they are suddenly on the lam—where genie accidentally becomes witness to a murder. Together, they must solve the mystery of the whodunit, before they end up the killer’s next victim. Then there’s the little matter of the Zolton, supreme ruler of all genies, who is less than impressed with the news of her master swap.Can genie and her new master sleuth their way out of trouble… while avoiding falling in love? less
