Every sixty years, seven masters - sorcerers of untold power - rise up and summon their champions in a Battle Royale to win the Holy Grail! The Grail only grants its one wish to the winner, so when Shiro Emiya accidentally summons a champion, it's kill or be killed!

Emiya discovers the origin of the spell field only to be greeted by the Servant Rider, who controls the spell. Saber arrives to help fight, but the Rider escapes with hardly a scratch. Meanwhile, Tosaka proposes that she and Emiya join forces, to which Emiya agrees immediately. But will she still want to fight on Tosaka's side after she's kidnapped by Rider and discovers that the Rider's master is none other than her childhood friend Shinji?

When Emiya reaches the park in which he was saved by his father from the fire when he was young, Emiya and Saber are attacked by dragon fang soldiers, and Caster launches a sudden flash that envelops Saber. Saber and Emiya struggle to defeat Caster, a new Servant, and her army of endless dragon fang soldiers. But at the last blow, Saber realizes that Caster was just a mere puppet projection that the true Caster was controlling!

Shinji and Rider are up to no good again, and this time everyone is going to suffer. As Shiro struggles to deal with the dramatic changes in his old friend, he struggles to balance his relationship with Saber as well. What does it really mean to be Master and Servant, anyway?

As Shirou is falling off of the rooftop of the school, he uses his command mantra to summon Saber, who rescues Shirou and promises to defeat Rider. Meanwhile, Rin and Archer attack Shinji and Rider, pushing them to the edge of defeat. However, Saber blocks Archer's attack on Shinji under Shirou's orders.
