In the World of Frightful Things, Vittore is a vampire and the Prince of Thrills. He’s the best when it comes to terrifying humans, or he was. After a botched attempt at scaring humans, Vittore frets that he may have lost his flair for frights. Desperate to rekindle his spark, Vittore ventures into the woods, where he stumbles upon a corpse trapped in the ground. The poor dear just needs a little push to claw its way free, and luckily, Vittore is nothing if not encouraging.

James is dead and buried. Even in death, he is soft-spoken and yearns for love. When Vittore offers to marry him, James leaps at the chance and burgeons from the earth to wed Vittore.

Vittore has always heard that matrimony is horrific, and he’s delighted to see what frights emerge from his marriage to James. He’s positive marriage will teach him what it truly means to cause terror. However, will it be in time for him to perform his Prince of Thrills duties? Or will rivals swoop in and steal his title from him before he can learn the true meaning of terror?
