Ethan has moved to a new town and new school right before his junior year of high school. He has no friends and is pretty miserable. Then he meets Sam in his first homeroom meeting. Sam is a cute, funny kid and one of the first things he asks Ethan is "Do you fish?" The two hit off and soon they spend all of their time together. Sam has a leaky old johnboat and when they're not in it fishing they're spending time together doing other things. They get jobs together at a grocery store and see an old van that the store used to deliver groceries in. They ask their boss and he lets them have it really cheap. They name it the Bassmobile, They turn it into a bedroom on wheels eventually, they find that they have another interest than fishing. They experiment and in no time, they fall in love.
