Hilary is popular, successful, and fun. Her sister Val, on the other hand, defines herself as a complete disaster. When Hilary dies, her family is overcome with grief. Just as it seems that things will never get better, Val finds Hilary's bucket list. Val decides to do everything on the list even if this means putting herself in situations she never would have done before. During this process, she begins to realize that she had the wrong self image all along.
