The Junkyard by Ross Carson
Jimmy Madison was the product of low life parents who neither one wanted to be saddled with a kid. When Jimmy’s mother is forced to send him to school, officials immediately realize the abysmal conditions that he has been forced to endure. Jimmy is placed with foster parents who completely turn his life around providing a loving Christian environment and a happy childhood. Jimmy grows into a young man learning about farm life and outdoor sports while gaining many skills along the way. After graduating high school, he embraces becoming an adult after he inherits his biological father’s estate. Along the way, he reconnects with the girl who made fun of him on his first day of school finding his soul mate in the process. Together, along with their parents, the entire family embraces the preparedness lifestyle as the world continues to deteriorate. When the Chinese pull off an attack on the United States, the family bands together with the help of a neighbor to survive and protect what they have stockpiled to see them through the crisis.
