Selene Jordan is alone in the universe. That’s reason enough to risk everything on one last escape attempt. She’s tried a half dozen times over the last two years, but this is the one that really counts. Giving the tri-pedal reptilian species the slip proves to be only half the battle. It’s staying free, even as they mercilessly hunt her down that’s the real challenge.
Life is hard, but Selene has a secret. One that just might damn her eternal soul. She’s got the hots for the strange alien king, only now he comes to her in her dreams instead of the holo-vid in her tiny room. She dare not let him capture her, lest she end up in the Riddiam mines. The radioactive rock is highly valued because it makes pretty much every engine in the galaxy turn. Shuddering, images of miners with their bald heads, gaunt eyes, and toothless smiles rise like a spectre taunting her. It was a bad way to go. Since she had no intention of rotting in a Riddiam mine or becoming the alien king’s newest concubine, she did the only thing she could. She kept on the move, staying in the shadows, scavenging to survive.
