The Unusual Suspects by Dominic Carrillo
Nia’s young heart is broken– and someone’s going to pay.

Who could’ve predicted where it would all lead? A teenage girl and a wise old writer, both driven by love, are now entangled in an apparent murder. Fate has bound these two strangers together in ways they never imagined.

Alex was Nia’s first real boyfriend. Just as their summer romance heats up, he makes conflicting announcements. He loves her. And he’s moving to a new school in Berlin. A month later, he’s with someone new as though they’d never happened – it’s an Epic Devastation.

Convinced her divorcing parents won’t realize she’s missing, Nia boards a train in Sofia, Bulgaria. She’s bound for Germany in search of…in search of what exactly? Redemptive love? Revenge? A reckoning? She isn’t sure.

Kurt, an octogenarian writer from California, is on his way back to Budapest. He longs to visit the gravesite of his wife, whom he promised to love until his dying day. He has good news to share. Soon they’ll be together again – this time for eternity.

The unlikely pair is caught up in an international game of cat and mouse that threatens to derail both their plans. The police are hot on Nia’s trail thinking she’s been kidnapped. And now there’s a dead body to contend with too. This was not how things were supposed to go.
