Rookie FBI agent Mark Locke is on his first assignment out of Quantico. It's a simple enough mission: tail known criminal Angelo Vitali and help build a case against him. Working as part of a team of experienced operatives, he should be safe.
He's not.
When Angelo turns out to be harder to catch than first thought, Mark is sent in undercover. It's a dangerous mission which leads to him being shot by a rival gang within hours.
Before Mark's allies can intervene, Angelo steps in and takes the wounded agent to his safe house, where the games begin. If Angelo finds out who Mark really is, Mark's dead for sure. But maintaining cover with a man this devilishly intelligent is not easy - and there's Robert Vitali, Angelo's much younger lover to contend with as well.
As Mark gets to know Angelo, he realizes that Angelo is everything the FBI thinks he is, and so much more. Dark. Twisted. Cruel. Somehow, Angelo contains all the very worst traits of man without being tainted by them. He makes them beautiful and alluring.
Jealousy, seduction, and danger surround Mark as he tries desperately to survive the machinations of the most frightening devil of a man he has ever known - and to stop himself from falling in love.
