Shay has been abducted by aliens. The Ak-hal are inhumanly beautiful, yet dangerous. They are a race of dragon-shifters, who have destroyed their home planet and all of their women. They have settled on another and are abducting human women from Earth in order to rebuild their race. They want Shay for their crown prince.

Khofti is with a group of his people, the Kamani, who are the original inhabitants of the planet that the Ak-hal are trying to take over. The Kamani are a peaceful people, a race of bear shifters. They have come on a rescue mission to save the women who have been abducted. From the moment that he sees Shay, he knows that she is the one.

Khofti and Shay are on the run from the Ak-hal, yet the Ak-hal want to claim her for their own. When they get their hooks in, they do not want to let go.
