Remnant by Catherine Miller
When the Reapers came, they destroyed everything in their path. Cities decimated. People slaughtered. Resources swept away. A small remnant of soldiers and survivors took refuge in the compounds, but survival came with a price. For the single women without families to protect them, the price was heaviest.

Mina is one such survivor. Her place is in the dormitories where she is forced to give herself to any man with enough tokens to purchase her time and body. She is fed, she is clothed, she is safe from the Reapers, and she knows this is the best she can hope for in a society where the overthrow of order could mean death for them all.

When a very young visitor with a hidden agenda comes to see her, he gives her hope for a life beyond mere survival, and the hope that there is a good man amongst them after all.
