Some of the folks are funny down-home characters you just want to hug. And one in particular, Annie Travers, is a pretty widow with scars and tragic mysteries of her own. And some of the people in Ferris' Bluff are just plain evil-ruthless and crafty and mean as junk-yard dogs.
