Robyn Hunter agrees to spend her summer volunteering at an animal shelter and finds the experience way more eventful than she expected. Many juvenile offenders also volunteer at the shelter as part of a rehabilitation program, including Nick D'Angelo, a boy from Robyns past. Nick has a history of getting into trouble, but when he is arrested again, Robyn begins to question his guilt and sets out to prove Nick's innocence.
