The Alien Library by Maureen O. Betita
Oddly enough, Cameron’s life begins with an alien abduction. She nearly died years earlier and carries that secret with her to the new world, Ix. After finding herself put in charge of a wondrous library filled with the best books earth has to offer, she slowly learns to trust and grows used to the unexpected new world.

The Kharmon aren’t unpleasant, and most see the humans left at their doorsteps as revered gifts. But one group consider them slaves and presents the greatest challenge — aside from the ticking bomb of her health issue.

She didn’t expect to find her alien patron attractive, or to meet a human physician who could heal her body and heart. The three begin a dance that can end in destruction or triumph.

On Ix, death is an infrequent visitor, but not impossible.
