Outbreak by Richard Denoncourt
This is an alternate cover edition for B00M2AOH78

SOCIETY HAS FALLEN, the world is infected, and one young man, Kip Garrity, must venture out into the ruins of his small town to find the medicine that can save his dying father.

The only problem is, their town is overrun by the victims of a virus that turned most of humanity into mindless cannibals. Luckily, Kip has been well trained for this. His father was in Army Special Forces and taught him everything he knows about guns, survival, and the virus - but it may not be enough.

In the ruins of his once idyllic hometown, Kip will encounter a test he never prepared for when he meets a girl from his past who turns his mission upside down, and a band of violent killers led by a sadist who calls himself "The Colonel" and takes a special interest in pushing Kip to his limits.
