Uptown Death Squad by Nick Cato
1975.
After five years serving his country in Vietnam, Ronald Washington III has returned home to Harlem. He's haunted by what he was forced to do to survive, but manages to adjust back to society. His brother Lester was left in charge of the neighborhood, but things have changed.
As Ronald (a.k.a. "Big Ron") enjoys his first good meal since coming home, things start to go horribly wrong. Someone is after his brother, and their family pays a terrible price. Lester has pushed his underground business a bit too far, and plenty of people aren't happy about it.
With Lester and his young crew, an old friend who did time with him in 'Nam, and a wise old stepfather, Big Ron prepares to defend his streets from those looking to take them away. And when the mob gets involved, all out war is right around the corner...
