First of all, it didn't end the world. It was extreme population control. Secondly, it wasn't exactly Colton’s fault. He was a scientist searching for a cure to a disease that affected those who live on Mars. For some reason, the virus became air born. He was knocked out cold and woke up forever changed.
The world is near deserted. The virus made him stronger, faster...oh and gave him freaky red eyes. Now he’s traveling with a flirtatious sheriff and searching for his former lab partner Mitch while avoiding gun-toting survivors.
Welcome to the end of the world, sort of.
