William Tangerine was born in the pumpkin garden of Joppy Bull. He was not born from a mother, dragon or Crotonian like most boys in the small town of Griendell Sweetwater, Kansas. He was born from an overgrown tangerine.
When he meets Jonby Yellowkester, a boy like him, his life becomes the target of Albert, a scheming banana that wants to resurrect an old society the world had forgotten. It is up to William to save his town from certain death.
