Everyone in Wortlethorpe, including the church mice and Sampson, the church cat, hoped the holiday curate would be a nice quiet chap like the one they had last year.

He wasn't.

What's more, this trendy young curate hated mice, and considered it a church cat's duty to catch them, not to hob nob with them. Changes, changes . . . but the worst change of all was NO CHEESE.
