Living in a small town has its' challenges, and Jessica is determined to make the best of the situation. Raised by a single mother, and a drunk for an uncle, Jessica resorts to the only thing that really brings her happiness - books. She dreams of the day when she can leave the dusty little Texas town, and spread her wings to new and faraway places, and she uses books as her escape. Her childhood boyfriend shares with her of an opportunity to join the State Department career program. She joins after high school and soon she's on her way to discover new places, new cultures, and new friends. Passport to Happiness is a coming of age story, but more importantly it's a story of strength, and determination. Jessica discovers the true meaning of happiness is not in your circumstances, but where you hang your hat.
