Aidan has spent years searching for a way to enter "The Place" where he hopes to acquire that which he desires most. Obsessed with his quest, he uses whoever he wants for whatever he needs. Yet his quest is jeopardized once he meets Hazel, a young girl abducted to be his latest lover.

However, Hazel does not want to give in to Aidan's demands, but the longer she doesn't, the more likely it becomes that she will be punished at the hands of Aidan or his best friend, Benjamin. The path to survival appears to be complete and total acquiescence to Aidan’s demands, which is something Hazel is determined not to do. For now, Hazel needs to tread carefully to buy time and make a plan of action.

Failure is not an option. Should anything happen, no one gets a second chance. At least, almost no one...
