Hired to diagnose a group of catatonic patients housed in a privately funded ward, psychologist Martin Preisel's modest expectations of his new job are tempered by his eagerness to be employed. He never suspected the position would challenge his convictions and shake his beliefs to their very core.

The lost souls in his care may be innocents, but they seem to converse with people who aren't there while completely ignoring the staff and frequently collide with walls and furniture while remaining purposeful and driven in their actions. When normal treatment options get no results and strange traumas begin plaguing the patients, Dr. Preisel has no choice but to entertain the notion that this shared affliction goes way beyond the science of the mind...
