Pretty Woman, Floating by S.J. Hunter
2102. The shifting fogs of San Francisco's South Bay reveal a drowned woman floating in the surf and Homicide Inspector Livvy Hutchins, who happens to be jogging nearby, takes the case, only to have it snatched away under suspicious circumstances. Longevity Law Enforcement claims it, and LLE doesn't play well with others. Except... the murdered woman's grandmother doesn't trust LLE's high-handed disregard for the truth, and Livvy finds herself investigating again. Soon she has more to worry about than LLE's interference and the revelation that members of her own, Longevity Laissez-faire family are involved. As the opening moves in a lethal game, a brilliant professional assassin in the pay of Longevity black marketeers sets his sights on Livvy and sends his augmented droids to harass her. If it weren't so deadly it might be fun.
