Shadows on the Sun by Terri Beckett
This novel explores what might have been if Richard III had won the battle of Bosworth and defeated Henry Tudor.

This is an historical romance which has very little to do with the ‘real’ history of the time, being a ‘what if’ story. Richard has defeated one enemy, but there are others who oppose his reign and will work to overthrow him. He has the continued support of his new young queen, Isabella of Spain, but most of all the unwavering friendship of Francis Lovell, his most trusted and beloved friend. In the ten years following the battle, Richard works to bring peace to his country. But conspiracies continue, and one enemy in particular strikes where he is most vulnerable.
