Aşteptând în Ghermana by Dănuţ Ungureanu
Gene Yablonski is a cop in a distopic future Earth where almost everybody has left the planet for the orbit, leaving behind a wasteland. The single megalopolis at the surface is filled with the leftovers of the human race, frolicking by the millions. A late night copter patrol, a confusing shooting situation, and Yablonski suddenly finds himself mixed into a case without heads nor tail yet which seems to greatly interest everybody, from street urchins and genetically engineered sex toys to the city council and wealthy business men. Caught in the events, all Yablonski can do is to dig deeper all the time, uncovering layer after layer of stomach churning facts and mind blowing secrets.

"Waiting in Ghermana" is a cyberpunk crime novel set in a dark, irreverent world, whose inhabitants have given up hope and live life as best as they can. Yablonski is one of the little people, a veteran of the streets, for once at odds with their normal flow, feeling that he's being used by unknown forces to some unknown yet decidedly unsettling purpose. In order to complete his search he will have to not only digest the ugly truths he's uncovering but also to change himself and see his world turning upside down.
