Where All Things End by David Hill
Jotan lives on board Bellatrix, a Star-Reacher hurtling across space to the outer reaches of the Milky Way - a journey that has already taken 400 years and several generations.

Like the other 80,000 people on board, Jotan has never visited overcrowded Earth. Now, he has been picked as part of the first mission to explore a black hole - a dangerous project from which there may be no return.

"If you somehow fly inside the event horizon of a black hole nothing can save you," he is warned. Then one of the crew makes a serious error, causing them all to be sucked into the black hole towards the Singularity "where the laws of science do not apply and destruction seems the only outcome" - until Jotan makes a last, supreme effort to rescue them all.

An exciting, well-imagined, futuristic adventure for junior readers.
