Born Leader by J.T. McIntosh, James Murdoch MacGregor
Born Leader is a somewhat engrossing tale of a colony of survivors of the collapse of Earth's civilization. Their little paradise is threatened by the approach of a spaceship bearing other survivors, who are militaristic & seem intent on conquest. The story makes some nice points about the dynamics of man-woman relationships & the power balance therein.

Also published under the title Worlds Apart in 1958.
