Rick is welcomed into the camp and introduced to the others; a family of four - Allen, his wife Donna and their twin boys Billy and Ben. Dale is an older man who owner of the RV the functions as the shared living quarters for the survivors. Also comprising the group is Jim, Carol and her daughter Sophia, and the parentless, college-aged sisters Amy and Andrea.

Rick and Shane plan a hunting expedition, but before they depart Dale pulls Rick aside and privately informs him that Shane is not exactly pleased by his sudden and miraculous appearance.
